ABOUT ME

My name is Blake and I build guitars. While I love big brand name guitars I was struggling to find something truly unique in terms of paint, pickups & wood choices outside of pricey custom shop models. So I started building them on my own in the pursuit of my own kind of perfection. Pretty quickly I had a house full of guitars and I realized that my love for building needed a more sustainable outlet than for just my personal stash….and now we are here.

But why the name of Blake of SB?

As a kid my mother created her own children’s clothing line. She taught herself how to sew, create patterns and sell into major department stores like Bloomingdale’s all in the pre-internet age. At the time I found it annoying that weekends were spent at her local factory while my parents kept pushing the business forward. As an adult, I find it completely amazing that she decided she wanted some cute clothes for her kid and through sheer will made it a business. That clothing line was Blake of Santa Barbara. My guitar brand is named after my mom’s clothig line in honor of the most loving, determined & spiciest lady around.
